Freqently Asked Questions
What is CBD?
CBD is short for cannabidiol, which is a naturally occurring ingredient of the cannabis, or hemp plant. CBD is a cannabinoid, one of 82 compounds found within the cannabis plant.
CBD and other cannabinoids are thought to interact with the body via the endocannabinoid system (also known as the ECS). The body actually produces its own endocannabinoids! Research into the ECS is still ongoing and all of its functions have yet to be discovered, although it has been linked to many bodily processes, including metabolism, chronic pain, mood, memory, appetite, digestion, inflammation and more.
What are the health benefits of CBD?
CBD is becoming very popular lately, as many studies are being done into the use of CBD as a potential treatment for a variety of health issues from insomnia and anxiety to chronic pain and inflammation. Research is still ongoing, but current studies have found that CBD could have potential benefits to health and wellness.
Will CBD products get me ‘high’?
Not at all! CBD is from the cannabis plant, but it has no psychoactive effects, unlike its more famous cousin, THC, found in the illicit drug cannabis. CBD is thought to have more positive effects on the body but it will definitely not get you high.
Is CBD legal in the UK and Europe?
Yes! CBD is extracted from specially grown hemp plants and contains less than 0.2% of the psychoactive ingredient THC, which is well below the legal requirements. All of the CBD used in our products is independently lab tested, so you can be confident of its quality and content.
